Coaches and Managers Conduct

4 Jun 2018 by Mark Morrow

Hi Coaches and Managers,

Just a gentle reminder about Coach and Manager conduct at games and training.

A few incidents have occurred to be dealt with and since we are about a third of the way through the season it is a great time for a reminder so that we set high standards for the Parents, Players, Referees and as Mustangs.

1. All U9 -U15/16 need to have the Lanyards visible at all games. Wear them over your jumper.
2. A Vested Official must be aware of their duties which are outlined in the Coaches and Manager’s Handbook in Team App under Documents.
3. No Coach or Manager must enter the field at any time during the game without authorisation from the referee.
4. Please “curb the enthusiasm” of those passionate parents re aggressive and unsportsmanlike comments from the sideline.
5. U6-U8 soccer is for fun! We all want to see our players win but lets focus on the “how they played” as opposed to the outcome. Encourage this from the parents too.
6. Respect the Referee’s decision. The Association finds it difficult to get and keep referees so it is in our best interest to respect their decision and be good role models for our children. Disrespecting the referees is dealt with harshly.
7. Have a think about who you are playing in advance and if you need an alternate strip or bibs, please contact Brendan from Equipment early.

Lets strengthen the Mustangs culture by leading by example and being good role models.

Food for thought – Next time someone asks you how your team went on Saturday, maybe talk about how the team played as opposed to the score.

Have a great week everyone!

Mustangs Committee
